S&W Metal Products is excited to announce the acquisition of a new manufacturing partner – York Haven Fabricators (YHF) located in York Haven, Pennsylvania since 1998. This value-adding partnership will facilitate new manufacturing possibilities for both companies, while substantially increasing production capacity to meet customers’ ever-evolving requirements.

Expanding Our Fabrication Capabilities and Capacity

Established in 1946, S&W has refined its manufacturing services for well over 75 years. Beginning as a small fab shop in Earlville, Pennsylvania – about the size of a three-car garage – the company spread its roots and eventually grew into a 65,000 sq. ft facility in Gilbertsville, before expanding once again to our current location in the heart of Birdsboro.

Over a 2-year period S&W purchased and completed a full-scale renovation transforming a historic 100,000 sq. ft former steel foundry into a super-efficient modern fabrication facility. Our capabilities have likewise evolved significantly, now integrating some of the latest CNC metal forming technologies, laser cutting equipment, and CNC machining systems.

All of this occurred while undertaking an acquisition effort started more than four years ago, during which our core search criteria remained unchanged:

• Locate a strong, healthy manufacturer well-positioned for further growth.
  
• Avoid (or minimize) direct customer overlap, ensuring access to new market opportunities for the businesses and their respective customer bases.
  
• Ensure a location near enough to S&W so that both companies would be able to fully leverage the capacity, capabilities, and tremendous employee expertise of the other.

To that end, YHF was carefully sought out and selected as an exemplary match for S&W’s criteria and growth objectives. YHF contributes a wealth of operational compatibilities, including valuable cross-over and redundancy of equipment and core production competencies, as well as a highly skilled workforce accustomed to servicing a wide variety of customers, markets, and product types.

Over many decades each business has worked hard to develop distinct identities and specialties. Both companies have been driven to innovate and tailor their plant operations to service the specific needs of their customers, thus bringing unique new capabilities and best practices to the larger collective.
